PODCASTS FOR LOVE & LIGHT
Finding enlightening people who will empower, inspire and teach you by pointing you to your own wisdom can be a jungle. We can all use a little help from time to time. Especially in times when we feel stuck, at a loss, or like our vision is clouded, podcasts are an easy way to shift and fill your being with light. Here are some of our favorites.
Holistic Health, Food and Lifestyle
Many of us have heard about how mushrooms can give us psychedelic experiences. However, it seems fewer know how some of the other properties of these fungi are that they’re able to help our bodies optimize our health and heal imbalances (in a non-psychedelic way). In this podcast episode, you learn about the different types of tonics and what they’re good for, such as memory, kidney clearing, optimization, and the like. Overall the podcast is great for learning about holistic healing using herbalism. Part of the podcast is also a women’s series, as Mason and his wife Tahnee focus specifically on women’s health, motherhood, and cycles such as this episode on menopause with Jane Hardwicke Collins.
Have a listen if you’d like pointers on how to choose happiness. In this conversation, Mo Gawdat – former CEO of Google X – speaks about what brings him happiness and shares the perspective he gained when he lost his 16-year-old son. If a man who has lost his son can find happiness each day, so can you, wherever you are in your life.
In Western society, it’s common to experience a distinction between physical and mental/emotional trauma. It’s also a frequent experience that when healing trauma in Western society it’s about understanding the trauma to get over it. However, many times understanding a trauma doesn’t necessarily mean one heals it emotionally or on a physical level. This means that despite our cognitive understanding we may still experience pain or adjust our behavior (in an unhealthy maybe unconscious way) around a past trauma. Alternatively, what’s oftentimes really needed for traumas to fully heal is a new experience to bring safe, love, compassion, nurturing, and the like to the wound itself so it can mend and stop being a pain. There are several ways of doing this and one of them is through the use of psychedelics. More than simply being a ‘trip’, psychedelics can help us heal traumas on a deeper level that goes beyond the cognitive brain. In this podcast, Michael Pollan, a five-times New York Times bestselling author, explains some of his findings from his recent book on this topic. Go to the podcast here – it’s truly mind-blowing and enlightening.
